KA-VI-KA BY KABIKA KAUSENI
KA-VI-KA is a reflection of identity, culture, and artistic exploration. My illustrations, known as Silhouettes in Bloom, are an ongoing journey of self-discovery, blending editorial fashion with deep cultural symbolism. Fashion is more than aesthetics—it’s a creative outlet for exploring identity, and my silhouettes embody that evolution. Each silhouette is adorned with headscarves and The Cultural Bloom, an emblem I created while reconnecting with my roots.
Inspired by my late grandmother, Kabika Faustina Kauseni, whose name gives KA-VI-KA its sound, the head wraps (Chitambala in Bemba a Zambian language) and intricate embellishments honour her love for fashion and jewellery. Through them, I weave her spirit into my work, merging heritage with the things that inspire me.Like me, KA-VI-KA is constantly evolving. Each silhouette tells a story of self-expression, transformation, and cultural identity.
